What makes this different
Three things shape how I do this work, whatever form it takes.
Your whole life, not just your job
Most CliftonStrengths work is aimed at the office. Be a better employee, a better teammate. That's real, but it's only a fraction of it.
Your Talent Themes don't switch off at the end of the workday. They're in how you handle a hard conversation with your partner, what you do with a free Saturday, and the decisions you make every day without thinking about them. We'll start wherever you want. But I'm not going to limit our topics to just work.
You learn the concepts, not just your results
A report gives you five words and a few paragraphs on each. Useful, but these are just words on a page until you've felt them working in your own life.
So I teach you the thinking underneath: what a Talent actually is, why yours show up the way they do, what happens when two of them pull in different directions. Learn that once and you'll have tools you can use again and again, in situations neither of us could have planned for.
You move forward confident in who you are
A lot of coaching work is built to keep you coming back. Another session, another assessment, another framework to measure yourself against.
The aim here is different. Everything points back at your own judgment. You learn to read yourself, decide what's right for you, and act on it without waiting for someone else to confirm it first. There's no right answer here. Only what's true for you. And you're the only one who can know what that is.
Coming in 2027: Online workshops
Planned for early 2027, or sooner if there's enough interest.
If a workshop sounds better to you than a one-to-one session, I'm building those too.
Most people meet CliftonStrengths in a workshop their employer arranged. You shouldn't need an employer to get one. These are live, online, facilitated, and you sign up on your own. Everyone in the room will have come looking the same way you did.
What they cover and how they run isn't settled yet. Tell me what you're interested in and I'll build it into the planning.
What people bring
People often wonder whether what they're dealing with is worth a session. There's no typical reason, and no set curriculum, because there's no typical starting point. Some people arrive with something specific. Others just have a feeling that something isn't fitting, and can't yet name what. A few of the things people have arrived with:
- A leader whose top Talent Themes weren't the ones people expect at that level.
- Someone who couldn't see their own value, because all their Themes clustered in one domain.
- A business owner who was good at building a company and struggling at home.
- A single mother who kept underestimating what she was modeling for her children.
- Someone new to a role, who couldn't lean on the Themes that used to carry her.
None of these are the same problem. That's the point.
FREE WORKBOOK
Take your results beyond the report
Your results describe patterns, not a job. This free workbook takes yours off the page and into all aspects of your life: your work, your home, the people closest to you, and what you do with your own time. It works from your Top 5, whether you have the Top 5 report or the full 34.
We go through four parts of your life together, one at a time, with examples and room to write. Then you pick a fifth of your own and run it yourself.
Free. Fourteen pages. Made to print and write in. No spam.
Who this works best for
How I work asks something of you. Not experience, and not preparation. A certain way of coming at it. This part is about whether that's how you want to work.
Whatever form it takes, a session now or a workshop later, the approach asks the same few things of you. Here's what they are.
- You want to understand yourself, not be handed a label. Your results don't define you, limit you, or tell you who you are. They show you patterns. What you do with them is yours.
- You're open to exploring, not to being handed an answer. I won't tell you who you are. That part is yours, and what you get out of this depends on how far you're willing to go with it.
- You want to know how it works, not just what it means. My goal is that you can do this on your own afterwards, and that asks a little more of you up front.
- You're not here to fix what's wrong with you. We work from what's strongest, not what's missing. If you want to work on the bottom of your list, that's not what I do (and it's not Strengths-based thinking).
And if what you want is a quick answer or someone to tell you what to do, I'm not the right person for that. It's a real need for some. It's just not what I do.
